Just learning inversions or having difficulty with them? Here are some tips so your inverted stunts can hit!

Tips for Flyers:
  • ️While inverted, push through your shoulders, squeeze & hollow your body, keep your knees straight and keep your feet together. There should be zero back arching!
  • ️Think about lifting your upper body up, rather than getting your feet down.
  • ️Try to remain as hollow as possible and avoid too much of a pike through the hips.
  • ️Don’t worry about trying to place your feet in your bases’ hands, they will find and grab them on their own.
  • ️Once you’re popped back up, lengthen your body and stand tall. Do not let your knees bend at all!

Tips for Bases & Backspots:
  • ️Dip low with your legs – don’t rely only on your arms to push your flyer up.
  • ️Finish your arm push to make it easier for your flyer to get their upper body up. Your elbow should be completely straight at the end of your push.
  • ️Make sure your timing with the other base is perfect to avoid pushing the flyer sideways.
  • ️Backspots only – If holding your flyer’s hips or legs, avoid pushing them forward when trying to pop them up.
  • ️Backspots only – If you notice the dip/push timing of the bases is off, attempt to correct it by countering one side’s movement. Slow down one side or speed up one side to try to make it as even as possible to save the stunt.
