Calling all flyers! If you’ve ever wanted to train at home to improve your stunting skills but weren’t sure what you could do – here’s a tool for you. The Stunt Trainer is a flyer training tool that was created by a cheerleader to mimic how it feels to balance in a real stunt. It’s essentially a wobble board for cheerleaders.

Aside from being the prettiest and sparkliest wobble board you’ve ever seen, it has many other great features:

  • Comes with a carabiner to clip it onto your cheer bag and bring with you to practices and competitions
  • Wide enough to stand on it with 1 or 2 feet
  • Smooth surface on the bottom so it doesn’t damage flooring, and can be used on any surface (just be careful on slippery floors)
  • Allows you to spin in any direction and as many times around as you can manage (triple ups anyone??)
  • Can tilt far and move through a large range of motion to challenge your balance and improve ankle stability

After testing it out myself, I can see why flyers would love to use one of these regularly. It’s quite fun, safe and allows you to “stunt” at home whenever you want.

You might be wondering how it differs from other flyer equipment, like stunt stands, or what the benefit of it is over normal wobble boards you can find in stores. Here are some pros and cons of the Stunt Trainer in comparison to other equipment:

Pros

  • Cheaper than other flyer training equipment, such as stunt stands
  • Moves through a larger range of motion than many other wobble boards
  • Spins both directions
  • Portable
  • Doesn’t require a large space to use it in
  • Safer to use if you’re concerned about height

Cons

  • More expensive than regular wobble boards
  • Since it’s low to the ground, you can’t practice stepping up/down
  • Difficult to step and stand on it with 2 feet, but can be done depending on where you place your foot and how you get onto it

Overall, the Stunt Trainer is a great tool for cheerleaders to use. It’s convenient, fun, pretty, and will improve ankle stability and balance over time, if used regularly. If your goal is to improve your balance and make it more challenging to pull flyer body positions while at home, then I recommend this product.
