How to stop rebounding when connecting your cheer jumps:

USE AN 8-COUNT TRACK

Jumping to the timing of an 8-count track will ensure each component of your jump happens at the right time. If you’re going too fast and rebounding, you’ll definitely know.

SIT ON A BOX TRICK

Place a box or mat behind you that’s a bit higher than knee level. Each time you dip in between jumps to connect them, make sure your butt touches the box. This will force you to take more time to bend your knees rather than connecting the jumps through a rebound.

GO EXTRA SLOW

Try connecting your jumps in slow motion, focusing on fully landing and bending your knees before taking off again. Gradually increase the speed until it’s right.

WORK ON PLYOMETRICS

Jump over cones or agility hurdles, making sure to fully land a jump before starting the next jump. This will drill the movement of completing a full jump and landing. You can also do continuous jumps without rebounds to get this movement down.
